Call to Care
Whether in a small-town drug store or a major urban hospital, pharmacists are the last line of defense between a patient getting the right medication, or not — and taking it in the right way for the best outcomes. In this pilot for a short film series underwritten by Walgreens, we shine a light on the people who are drawn to this ancient vocation and explore the personal stories and motivations that inspire their call to care.
A Service Ministry
Wilma Wilbanks is a third-generation small-town pharmacist caring for her community in a medically underserved part of the country. For her, pharmacy is a "service ministry" that starts with caring for patients managing polychronic diseases and continues after hours as she gives back to her community. Wilma not only embodies what it truly means to be a pharmacist, but applies those values every day to help address the most urgent health issues facing her community.
